ABOUT VACCINOSIS......One of our beautiful Collies rescued from neglectful pet home in February 2008. Because of neglect of prompt medical attention when Sunny needed it, his eyes became inflamed and infected. After visiting three veterinarians and many dollars spent on tests and surgery, Sunny was ultimately diagnosed with Vaccinosis. Had this been treated right away, Sunny’s pain and suffering could have been avoided.

Let this be a lesson to The Public, Animal Cruelty can be found in any community and in any social class and take many forms. Please be on alert and report any suspected abuse to your local Animal Control Agencies. Please stand up and speak out for those who cannot defend themselves!  Please click on the link in the photo below and read about Vaccinosis. Learn from Sunny’s case and be an alert pet owner! Remember they cannot speak up for themselves. It is up to you to take care of them properly!

to this, in just 6 weeks of Neglect......

This is the start of the Vaccinosis allergic reaction syndrome. Learn and be aware.

From scratching at itchy skin.
Baldness resulting from skin and hair death from
untreated swelling.

The healing process
is slowly setting in....must get worse before it gets better, called a ‘healing crisis’........  his irritated and infected skin fell off.........with prompt medical attention by the former Pet Owner, this situation could have been avoided completely!

What you see in these photos are the progress of skin inflammation caused by an allergic reaction to over vaccinating. The swelling from an allergy caused the skin to die and the hair follicles to die due to lack of blood circulation. Temporary baldness resulted and swelling resulted in eyes becoming dry. This has been verified by three veterinarinans in the Reno Nevada area.

Two weeks with us under our care, he has regained use of his tear ducts, the swelling has come down so he can see again, and the healing of the skin has occurred.

Several thousand dollars have been spent to discover the cause of this sweet dog’s suffering and to ‘cure’ him of his affliction. He is now declared ‘cured’ as of May 2008.

Despite his abuse at the hands of Humans, Sunny still loves people....and in typical Collie fashion gave big Collie kisses to all the babies he met at the Truckee Meadows Dog Club booth at the Reno Convention Center in
March 2008.
Sunny still works a job as Collie Ambassador to the public and when healed again, may once again become one of our herding Collies.

Hair growing back and eyes are
normal size once again!
3 weeks after rescue.

April 2008....some hair is growing back! Such a sweet boy....he is such a good patient while getting his medical treatments....

6 week post rescue.

Sunny two months after rescue in in Feb 2008. We are almost healed and back to normal. So far all tests are revealing nothing except a healthy, normal dog.
